DEPARTMENT OF PHYSIOLOGY

 
      The Department of Physiology is functioning since the inception of Government Theni Medical College. The Department is actively teaching Physiology to the Medical students by lecture and practical classes. At present the Department is functioning efficiently with adequate number of teaching Faculties and non teaching staff members. The Department has a well equipped Haematology and Clinical physiology laboratory for the students to acquire a better practical knowledge.

1.CME ON FERTILITY-"MANASA" was conducted on July 1st 2015

2..INTEGRATED TEACHING ON ANAEMIA WAS CONDUCTED ON 25.11.2015

3.CME ON DIABETES-"MADHUMEHA" was conducted  on July 1st 2016


4.Faculties &Students from Department of Physiology participated in" ENVOCCON" ,International conference on ENVIRONMENT & OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH organised by department of Physiology,Sree Balaji Medical College &Hospital,Chennai
  •  Dr.K.Muthuselvi  won the third best oral presentation for the topic 'EFFECT OF YOGA ON   GLYCOSYLATED HAEMOGLOBIN LEVELS IN DIABETIC SUBJECTS"
  •  DrP.Sumathy, Associate Professor- presented a Poster on "EFFECT OF ALCOHOLISM ON BLOOD PRESSURE"
  • D.Aishwarya- prefinal year student,did oral presentation and won third prize on the topic "ANTHROPOMETRIC INDICES AND BLOOD PRESSURE IN YOUNG HEALTHY ADULT OFFSPRING OF PARENTS WITH TYPE II DIABETES MELLITUS".The guide for this study is Dr.P.Sumathy
